President Patsy Mays opened our final meeting of 2008 by thanking everyone for coming and thanked Tamers and the staff for a great luncheon. A special thank you to Joan Marsh and Joan Higinbotham for coordinating the luncheon and their great suggestion of the cookie exchange . The members of their committee were asked to stand and were applauded for their efforts.

Patsy called upon Karen McCloskey to announce the results of the days nine hole tournament and monetary prizes were presented to the winners.

Patsy then went on to tell the members that it had been a privilege to serve as President of the league for the past two years. She went on to say that it was the membership that makes our league so strong and wanted to give special thanks to the committee heads.

Patti Dugan and Mary Lou Atkinson headed up The Rally For A Cure and with their committee, helped ORLGA raise more than $11,000 for the Cure.

Kathy Giancarlo and Sally Duffy and their committee helped make the member guest a big success.

A special thanks to Ginny Alger and her committee for putting together our directory.

Our new members are introduced to ORLGA by Nancy McDonald, Reggie Harrington, and Oliver Larson. They help to make new members feel a part of Ocean Ridge.

Gwen Fitzgerald and Anita Clodfelter did a wonderful job of organizing refreshments for our meetings. Thank you to all the members who contributed food.

The charity committee, headed up by Ruth Ray, had 4 successful fund raisers this past year. A more detailed report will be given at our January meeting.

Frankie Neal and Pam Fitzgerald headed up publicity and did a great job of posting our tournaments in the newspapers.

Patsy reminded the members that it takes a lot of people to make our league successful.

She went on to thank the 2008 officers.

Our vice president and tournament director was Peggy Rowland. Peggy coordinated all the weekly events and the special tournaments throughout the year. A special thanks to her committee members who helped to plan our tournaments.

Pat Brooks has been our treasurer for many years and has always made sure we stayed within our budget and left us with a carry over to begin the new year. Thanks for keeping our books straight!

Judy McLellan has been secretary for the past two years and kept accurate minutes of our meetings.

The slate of officers was announced and Patsy asked for any nominations from the floor. As there were none, the slate of officers for 2009 will be as follows:

President: Peggy Rowland

Vice President: Mickie Underhill

Treasurer: Jan Henson

Secretary: Gwen Fitzgerald.

Patsy called upon Peggy Rowland to give the results of the 2008 Presidents Cup Matches. Peggy announced that 33 teams took part and it was divided into 8 flights. The winners of flights A- through D were Barb Seelos and Grace Bradicich. Winners in E through H flights were Toni Roe and Judy Keegan. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

The Ringer awards were announced by the committee of Wendy Kent, Karen McCloskey, and Pat Brooks. These three members do a tremendous amount of work during the year updating the records for us. The winners will be posted on the Web Page.

The most improved golfer award went to Bev Furman. Congratulations, Bev.

As there was no new business, Patsy adjoined the meeting. The first meeting of 2009 will be held on January 14th.
