ORGANIZATION:

League consists of six (6) clubs: Ocean Ridge, St. James, Porters Neck, Landfall, Pine Valley and River Landing. Our Ocean Ridge representative to this league is Jan Henson. Check the Interclub Schedule for dates and courses of 2011 matches.

Each club sends a team of eight (8) players to each competition. In order to maintain a high standard of competition, 4 team members must have valid USGA handicaps between 0 and 19 and the remaining 4 team members must have valid USGA handicaps between 20 and 29.
MATCH PLAY FORMAT:

Each team will play a different team at each match throughout the season.

The first five matches will be played against the other 5 teams in the league.

The final match will be point leaders playing each other. (1st plays 2nd, 3rd plays 4th and 5th plays 6th). This will determine the overall winner for the season.

Team scores will consist of four (4) two-player teams from each course playing four (4) two-player teams from their opposing course. (A&B from Landfall will play A&B from Pine Valley; C&D will play each other, etc.).

Matches will be best ball, match play, net, with points awarded for winning the front nine, back nine, and overall match. Three possible points per match.
OTHER GAME:

In addition to the matches above, there will be a one best net ball competition among the paired foursomes.

In this format, each four-person team (2 players from each club) will play against all other teams in the event.

Prizes will be awarded, in gift certificate form, to the winners.

These gift certificates will be issued from the host course and will be redeemable at that golf shop only.
RULES OF PLAY:

All play will be from the RED tee markers.

USGA RULES govern all play.

Any local rules that apply for individual courses will be explained prior to play at that course. |
