You compete against the course.
Play the same course for two days (or just one day) and take the best net score for each hole and you have your "Ringer" game score!
Limit: 48 players
Entry Fee: Lunch and awards fee ($8.00 - $12.00) for two days or just an awards fee($5.00 - $9.00) for one day payable in cash and due on the first day you play. One person in each group is to collect fees and turn them in after play with signed and attested scorecards to one of the event directors.
Minimum Regular Play Requirements must be met to participate: Part-time Residents: 5 rounds (total) in previous 365 days; Full-Time Residents: 10 rounds (total) in previous 365 days
Signup Deadline: At least two(2) weeks before the tournament
Format: Individual Stroke Play - You are trying to obtain your best net score on each hole over a two-day period. You record your gross score and net score for each hole, the final gross and net scores after the first round and the Ringer Net Scores for each hole and the final Ringer Net Score. See Ringers for a scoring example.
Round 1 - You cannot take your maximum score. Post this score as a tournament score.
Round 2 - If you cannot improve your first day’s net score on a particular hole, you can pick up your ball or not play the hole at all. If you do either, do not post your score for handicapping.
Rules: USGA Stroke Play Rules. No Gimmies. Since this is a tournament, you must play out the hole on Day 1 and record your gross and net scores on the hole. ORLGA local rules apply. Play the ball down. If cart path only (CPO); lift, clean and place LCP) in your own fairway. (Scoring, play instructions and any rule changes will be determined by the tournament directors and provided before each round.)
Winners: This is a flighted tournament. The number of flights, the number of winners in each flight and the amounts of monetary awards will be determined by the number of players in each flight. Ties will be broken using match of cards according to USGA procedures. Closest to the Pin on two or more holes have been awarded in the past.
Awards: When possible is held at the Plantation Club after the second day of the tournament. Refreshments range from light snacks to full lunch. Wine, diet soda and water may be provided. Otherwise, it is a BYOD event.
